Careers & Apprenticeships
We would rather train someone
than hire a certificate.
Most of what this job requires cannot be learned from a course. Explaining a problem to someone who is frustrated. Knowing when the honest answer costs us the bigger project. Noticing that the thing a client asked for is not the thing they need. We hire for that and teach the rest.
What The Work Is
Small team, real range.
We are deliberately not a large firm, which cuts both ways and you should know both halves.
You will not do one narrow thing
In the same week you might configure a tenant, pull cable in a warehouse, and sit with a client explaining why their backup was never going to work. People who want a single specializm will find this frustrating. People who want range will not get it in a larger organization.
You talk to clients directly
There is no account manager standing between you and the person with the problem. That means the communication side matters as much as the technical side, and it is genuinely the harder half for most people starting out.
Your work gets documented
Everything goes into our documentation system, because the next person picking up that client should not have to work it out from scratch. It is a discipline, and it is not optional here.
Nobody is on call for everything
Our security monitoring is staffed around the clock by a dedicated operations team, so overnight threat containment does not depend on waking an engineer. That is a deliberate choice about how we want people to work.
Apprenticeships & Internships
If you are starting out.
There is a real shortage of people entering this trade, partly because most entry-level postings ask for three years of experience. We take people who are early and teach them properly, which is slower for us and better for the industry.
What we look for
- ✓ Curiosity about how things actually work, not just how to make them stop breaking
- ✓ Being able to explain something clearly to a person who is annoyed
- ✓ Saying "I do not know yet" instead of guessing
- ✓ Turning up when you said you would
What we do not require
- ✓ A computer science degree
- ✓ A stack of certifications before you start
- ✓ Prior experience at another provider
- ✓ Knowing which area you want to specialize in yet
