Free Software Audit

Find out what is actually
running on your computers.

We inventory every application across your environment, rate the risk of each one, and tell you which country it was built in. It costs nothing, there is no obligation, and you keep the report regardless of what you decide to do afterwards.

Why This Matters

Nobody knows everything
installed on their network.

Software accumulates. Someone downloads a PDF tool to get through an afternoon. A vendor installs remote access for a project and nobody removes it when the project ends. A browser extension gets added because it saved five minutes once. None of it goes through anyone, and none of it shows up until you go looking.

Software nobody remembers installing

Unsupported utilities that stopped receiving security updates years ago are still one of the most common ways into a small business network. They work fine, which is exactly why nobody removes them.

Remote access left behind

A previous IT provider or a project vendor installs a remote tool and never takes it out. It sits there working, with credentials somebody outside your business still holds.

Browser extensions with broad permissions

Many extensions request permission to read and change everything on every page. That includes your banking portal, your practice management system, and anything your staff type into a form.

Where the software was built

Your own customers have started asking this during procurement, particularly if you work with government, defense, or larger enterprises. Most businesses have no way to answer it. The report gives you the list.

The Report

What you get back.

  • ✓ Every application found across the machines we scan
  • ✓ A risk rating for each, with the reason it was rated that way
  • ✓ Country of origin for each application
  • ✓ Anything unsupported or no longer receiving security updates
  • ✓ Remote access tools, flagged separately
  • ✓ A short summary of what we would deal with first, and why

Written so you can hand it to someone who is not technical. If you want to give it to your current provider and ask them to work through it, that is a perfectly good outcome and we will not chase you about it.

Common questions

Is this really free? Yes, and there is no obligation attached. We do it because it is the most honest demonstration of how we work, and because roughly half the businesses we run it for find something that concerns them.

Will it slow our computers down? No. It inventories what is installed rather than scanning file contents, so staff will not notice it running.

Do you need admin access to everything? We need enough access to enumerate installed software. We will explain exactly what that involves before anything is set up, and you can stop at any point.

What happens to our data? The report is yours. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list on the back of it.
